Environmental Stewardship

Herald Harbor is steeped in history with a great deal of growth since its inception in 1924. Closely tied to the Severn River and Chesapeake Bay it is the responsibility of the community and its residents to not only maintain but protect environmental quality now and for future generations. There are many within the neighborhood who already devote much of their time to environmental stewardship and share their experiences. There are many ways in which each resident can contribute to the overall quality of Herald Harbor, hopefully one of the resources provided here will inspire.
The Crownsville Conservancy, Inc. seeks to preserve the trees, plants, animals, and natural communities that represent the character of this environment by preserving the parcels of land and water they need to survive.
SRA has many actvities and is always on the lookout for new people with talents of nearly any kind. It has activities including outings that put members in close touch with the river and watershed we love, legislative and regulatory action to improve protection for the Severn River watershed, cleanup and restoration projects, and more.
