Valentine Creek Park - Water Access Improvements

We received this communication regarding the upcoming development work at Valentine Creek Park.

Hello Valentine Creek Park Stakeholders,

The Department of Recreation & Parks is currently advancing the engineering and design of the planned water access improvements to Valentine Creek Park. The design is using Concept D, as was shared with you in April 2023 (attached, for your reference), Consultants retained by the Department of Public Works are currently on the property identifying specimen trees and other environmentally sensitive areas that we would try to avoid during the development of this park.  The County has retained a new consultant to complete this work, so they are also familiarizing themselves with the property.  DRP is still in the information-gathering stage.  Once a more detailed design concept is developed,  the County will reach out to the community and host a meeting to discuss the project.  Recreation & Parks will also be adding a Valentine Creek Park page to our website (https://www.aacounty.org/recreation-parks/capital-projects), which will have information about the project as it moves forward.

The Department of Public Works has noted that someone has removed survey markers and tree flagging that was recently placed by the County's engineering consultant - as well as rudely engaging the consultant crews. Please remind your neighbors and others that this project is not related to home development and that tampering with or removing survey markers in Maryland without authorization is a significant offense with potential fines.
